Step-by-Step Rhinoplasty Aesthetics

1.What would the process be and how I can get the consultation if I don't live in Turkey?

First of all, the foreign patients should get in touch with my assistants who would provide all relevant information. Once the surgery date is fixed, the patient has to come to Istanbul by the agreed time. I meet the patient during our consultation the day before or the same day morning as the surgery. After the nose examination I show the simulation of the future nose options and give the general information about the surgery process and further steps during all the stay in Istanbul. The final consultation is arranged in 6-7 days after the surgery. The patient gets the instrustions on how to take care of the nose during the healing process. After the final consultation the patient normally is allowed to fly home with the written permission from my side. In case the patient wants to come just for the consultation first, the appropriate date can be advised by one of my assistant.

2.How many hours does the operation take place, which method and what is the procedure in the hospital?

Normally the surgery takes approximately 2-3 hours. The anestesiologist can keep you in the surgery room additionally for 1-2 hours. The method of the access to be used is decided based on the structure of your nose and the existing problems. For the open rhinoplasty I use Bienair motor system with the Piezo ultrasonic system. Hammer, nail file operations have not been used for more than 5 years. Once you make the check in the hospital, the medical staff will take your blood for the analysis and you will have the conversation with the anastesiologist in regards to your health before the surgery. I will examine your nose and we will agree on the option you would like to have in the future. You have to stay in the hospital for 1 night.

3 Is the post-operative process painful and when I can return to my daily life?

Nose aesthetics is a complete painless procedure in 99% of patients. Only in the first night after surgery, some patients might have a headache caused by anesthesia or the cotton tampons during the first night. In 6-7 days after the surgery the silicone tampons in your nose will be removed and you will have the new bandage to be removed yourself in 5 days. Normally, most patients return to their daily lives one week after surgery.

4 Is there a lot of swelling and bruising after the surgery?

Almost in every cases the swelling that increases gradually in the first 3-4 days after the surgery, but it will decrese after the 3rd or 4th day and your face will completely return to normal within first week. Bruises are very individual and depend on your skin type. In case of the appearance of the bruises, they will disappear completely in 7-10 days.

5 Do I have breathing problems after the surgery?

Although there are occasional nasal obstructions due to the crust and stitches in the nose for up to 6 months in the postoperative period, this is not permanent. Your allergy condition that existed before the surgery will not go away with this surgery. If you would like to find the solution to your nasal congestion during allergy periods, that is not this surgery.

6 I live outside of Istanbul, how will my surgery arranged ?

Patients f who are coming abroad must stay in Istanbul for 7-8 days. Normally 1 day before the surgery or the same day of the surgery you will have the examination with me, you pass the blood test, fill in the documents for the hospital and talk to the anestesiologist. The next day after the surgery you will be able to go back to your hotel or the place where you are staying.

7 Do I need to come physically for the control? And how it's done?

If the patient can come to Istanbul for the physical check that is perfect. If not, we normally need to get the regular update with video and pictures about your healing process. Once you come home, in 5 days you remove your bandage and you need to send us the video. In case you need the special massage (we will advise you on that), you will have to send the video once you have done it. We will monitor you during the whole healing process. 8 Will my nose become not straight again and will it drop after surgery?

Nose curvatures are usually divided into 3 ways: Curvatures in the cartilage structure, Curvatures in the bone structure, Situations where there is curvature in both structures. Important to remember that these curves will not become 100%. Curvature between 10-20% may reappear. Normally the tip of the nose will drop in 3-6 months (depends on the type of your skin). For this reason, the nose tip must be lifted 5-6 degrees more than the request of the patient during the surgery. However, in some cases (such as cartilage weakness, very thick skin) the nose tip may fall more than planned. Patients who may experience this condition are given detailed information during the consultation before surgery.

9 Can my breathing problems be solved with nose surgery?

Before the operation your breathing problems related to the nasal middle cartilage (septum) curvatures or bone curvatures can be solved at the same time with the rhinoplasty. However, this surgery is not the solution to your allergic rhinitis or turbinates that existed before surgery.

10 Will I have scars?

Subject to following my recommendations, in most cases 2,5-4 months after rhinoplasty, the scar completely merges with neighboring areas of the skin, both in shade and in structure (microrelief). Exceptions are possible with improper care, as well as based on the individual characteristics of your skin and its susceptibility to scarring.

11 Do you have any package solutions?
